"In March 2025, he was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, he has been in the hospital. His treatment has brought many complications, and the situation has been very stressful and frightening for our whole family.
Thanks to the Housing Support Program, we got some funds to cover our mortgage expenses for almost 3 months. That support really helps us and gives us some stability during a very hard time.
Juan is still at the hospital, but he seems to be getting better. We are hopeful.
I’m truly grateful for the help we received, it made a real difference when we needed it most.” From, Juan's Mom
“I am extremely grateful for the Housing Support Program.
When we first received the diagnosis in November 2024, we had no idea of all that comes with it, including the financial stress. We had some emergency funds set aside but that only carried us through for a few months.
Thankfully, the Housing Support Program is in place to help families like mine during these tough times. The process of applying was easy, fast and no added stress to our current situation. I was amazed at the turnaround time to process the application and receive the funds.
It is nice for families to know about the different resources that are available. I found out through speaking with the social worker. Thankfully, the process is quick and smooth; had I not found out when I did, my family would have been faced with debt and late fees.” From, King Tyrone’s Mom
“The Housing Support Program has been a true lifeline for our family during this incredibly painful and uncertain time. Staying close to the hospital is not just about convenience – it has allowed us to be by our child’s side every moment, which is so important for his healing and for our peace of mind.
Between treatment costs, travel, food, and parking expenses, it is overwhelming. The Housing Support program eased some of this burden and it helps us focus fully on our child’s care without the constant worry about how we will manage day to day.
Families like mine truly need programs like this to survive these challenging times.” From, Niluxshan’s Mom
