What happens if a scholar's enrollment can’t be confirmed?

If a scholar is unable to confirm enrollment at the time their scholarship is being processed, the scholarship will be placed on hold while confirmation of enrollment is obtained.

How are scholars notified?

We notify all applicants about the results of their scholarship application by email.  Scholarship awardees are notified by email and a phone call. 

How do scholarship awardees receive their scholarship payment?

Scholarship awardees receive their scholarship by e-transfer.  A physical cheque can be requested.  For multi-year scholarships, payments are made on a yearly basis after confirmation of enrollment.  

What happens to funding if a scholarship awardee changes programs or schools partway through for a Kindred Foundation x Adventure4Change scholarship?

We understand that a student may decide to pursue a different program or change schools after receiving their scholarship.  If this happens, please reach out to Kindred Foundation so we have the necessary information and can discuss the changes.

What happens to funding if a scholarship awardee changes programs or schools partway through for a Kindred Foundation x BEF scholarship?

We understand that a student may decide to pursue a different program after receiving their scholarship. If a scholarship awardee changes programs or schools and would like to retain their scholarship, the new program must still be within the area of mental health, health sciences or sciences programs.  Please reach out to Kindred Foundation as soon as you have information to share about this decision.  

What happens if I go from being a full-time student to being a part-time student after receiving my scholarship?

Please reach out to Kindred Foundation as soon as possible about this change in your program enrollment.  Changing from a full-time to a part-time student will change the amount of your scholarship.

How do I learn about past scholarship awardees?

All awardees are listed on our website.  We are proud of all our Kindred scholars!

What happens once my scholarship is completed?

Kindred Foundation will reach out and ask for an update about how the scholarship supported you through your academic journey.  We would love to share your story with our donors and partners!
